Random Tuesday

My son grew some grass in a cup for Easter and it was starting to get really long so I thought I'd have some fun with my macro. If only I had twin or triplet newborns to shoot I'd love to position them this way with a blanket on a nice bed of long grass. For now I'll stick to my daughter's Littlest Pet Shop animals. :)

Color

This is Cameron's gingerbread house that he made in school a couple of months ago. I posted this image because my friend Shana and her husband Kyle helped me calibrate my monitor since my computer really needed it! I didn't realize how blue everything on my screen was before calibration and as a result, I was saturating my photos with way too much yellow/orange. Hopefully this picture looks ok. It looks a little different when I open it up on Photoshop than on Blogger. Anyway, Cameron's teachers normally use royal icing to stick the candy but since someone in his class is allergic to eggs the teachers had to help glue them with a hot glue gun. I don't mind since it'll keep better this way. The kids have been asking to eat everyday for the last two and a half months hoping maybe one of these days I would give in ;P.

Carbs

My never ending love for pasta has caused me to gain fifteen pounds within the last two years. I just love a big bowl of buttered noodles every once in a while...

Haunting

I find this carriage kind of eerie with this post processing and it was just as eerie when I saw it at the Canfield Fair a couple of weeks ago. It made me wonder who and what the baby was like and how his or her parents were. Reminds me of a prop they would use in the haunting movie, "The Others"

There's something about red doors that I really love.If I had more time, I would drive around town and try to take pictures of any red doors that I see. The color red has so many meanings ranging from temper and anger, to prosperity and joy (the Chinese regard the color red as a sign of good luck). A church door painted red is also considered a symbol of refuge. To all concerned the red on the doors signified the blood of Christ that had been shed so that all who came to him could be saved. Anyone who passed through those doors was safe as long as they stayed behind them. As for me, an object painted red represents something fun, fabulous, and just brightens my day. So when I saw this red door at Main Street, Unionville I had to take a photo.

One of the first few shots I took with my macro lens. I really enjoy macro photography although I think it's taking me a while longer to learn how to use. :P

Me: If you look really close, you might see a Smurf.

Cameron: Where's the Murf?

Me: It's Smurf.

Cameron: Snurf.

Me: Close enough.

On a side note, the Smurfs celebrate it's 50th anniversary this year. And on another note, The Smurfs were a big part in my life when it came to learning English. :)

I finally got a macro. This is my first shot with it. I love the lens but I it's much harder to use than I thought, lol! Must cut down on the caffeine...
